Milo Yiannopoulos can’t stay out of the headlines, and for all the wrong reasons.

Just weeks after a riot broke out at UC Berkeley before he was set to give a public speech, the conservative author was forced to resign from his position as senior editor at Breitbart news after a video of Yiannopoulos on the Drunken Peasants podcast surfaced, in which he made remarks that appear to defend pedophilia. On the podcast, filmed in January of 2016, Yiannopoulos was quoted as saying “Some of those relationships between younger boys and older men, the sort of coming-of-age relationships, the relationships in which those older men help those young boys to discover who they are, and give them security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable and sort of a rock where they can’t speak to their parents.” As if that wasn’t off-putting enough, he then went on to remark that he would not be as good at performing sexual acts if it wasn’t for his former pastor.

Naturally, these remarks were met with outrage from both liberals and conservatives alike. In an attempt to defend himself, Yiannopoulos said that he felt as a victim of child abuse himself, he was entitled to make whatever remarks he wanted on the subject, no matter how ridiculous or offensive they may be. He was emphatic in his denial of support of pedophilia, saying that his comments were simply meant to be “edgy jokes”, and not meant to be taken literally. These remarks also cost him a six-figure book deal.

Milo Yiannopoulos says he still plans to continue public speaking and pursue an independent book publishing, and plans to donate a portion of the profits to anti-child abuse organizations.
