Junior Kiana Lynn Kremer is this week’s artist. She is the President of Art Club, and The Paper Cut got the great opportunity to interview her and ask questions about her amazing skills.

Q: How long have you been drawing for?

A: I’ve been doodling all my life, but seriously have been working on art for four years now.

Q: When did you realize you had such a talent?

A: It was more like I realized that it was something I wanted to develop more. I got serious after I met someone who was better than me. I wanted to beat them.

Q: Do you aspire to be an actual artist some day?

A: Yeah! I want to work in freelance illustration.

Q: What is freelance illustration?

A: A freelance illustrator is one who sells work by the time or job and is not paid a salary by one employer. So they hop from job to job and work on a lot of different stuff.

Q: How many drawings and or paintings have you made?

A: Digitally (painting/drawing using a tablet and my laptop) 1,025. I’ve also filled 14 sketchbooks in the last year.

Q: What is it about art that you like the most?

A: The challenge of getting better and learning new techniques.

Q: What do you most like to draw?

A: People, they’re always interesting.

Q: Final question! Who is your favorite artist and why?

A: That’s really hard to answer; I would have to say Sachin Teng. There are amazing painters who I aspire to be like.
