English Teacher, Mrs. Bouchard

Things that I’m thankful for learning from Mrs. Bouchard: my 10th and 11th grade English teacher:

Have your own money. Safety, security an even opportunity bought by someone else in your life is a poor substitute for pride.
Nothing external can make you happy, they can only further the internal process.
Don’t tolerate people who don’t believe in your potential.
Don’t be afraid to be alone.
Lack of self respect is worse than loneliness.
Someone will judge you for everything. Do what you want.
Be authentic.
Be genuine.
Appearances are bull.
Honor your own potential. Respect others.
If you’re going to get a tattoo, make it good.
Learn to process your emotions healthily. They are nothing to be ashamed of, but they are to be maintained.
Ask for help if you need it.
Empathize. Behave accordingly.
Turn in things on their deadline.
No one owns you!
If at any point you are unhappy with life, change it.
That’s your right as a human!
