The third largest book festival in the country is back again for yet another successful year. From March 11-12th, the Tucson Festival of Books is returning for an even larger event than last year. For those of you who are not familiar with the Tucson Festival of Books, this is your chance to meet with renowned authors, enjoy musical acts, discover new novels, and meet with inviting people. This is the chance for book enthusiasts, entertainment seekers, and really bored people to go out enjoy the world around them.

The festival is hosted at the University of Arizona Campus from 9:30am-5:30pm and is offered free of charge to the public. Seven of the authors who are attending the festival are winners of the National Book Award 2016. They include Adam Cohen, Paulette Jiles, Ibram Kendi, Grace Lin, Elizabeth McKenzie, Andrés Reséndez, and Colson Whitehead. Food vendors will also be hosts at this festival, selling everything from meals to desserts.

Volunteers are more than welcome to sign up and are used for a variety of tasks. Volunteers provide thousands of free books to young readers, raise money for local literacy programs, increase literacy skills throughout Southern Arizona, and overall contribute to the success of the event.

Since 2009, the Festival has contributed over $1,450,000 to agencies that improve literacy around the community. If you are interested in volunteering at this event click this link: http://tucsonfestivalofbooks.org/?id=191
