Next year Sahuaro will be celebrating its 50-year anniversary. Mr. Estrella has met with committees that represent Sahuaro and his idea is to have a huge carnival that would tie into an important event like homecoming or a dance. Principal Estrella is very excited to have the honor of planning the 50th anniversary of Sahuaro. “This is a great opportunity to show who we are and what we are about at Sahuaro.”  Everyone is encouraged to get involved – we are looking for student drawn drafts of a new Sahuaro logo to display on the school and to put on new T-shirts and Sahuaro gear. Currently Student Council, the Cougar Foundation, and Site Council are coordinating this event. As the anniversary draws near, there will be committees made of students, Alumni, and current staff. Sahuaro is using examples for their 50th from other high schools, like Tucson High, and other positive, successful examples from other high schools and businesses.
