130 thousand people signed a petition promising that they will boycott everything to do with the NFL until Kaepernick gets signed. “This means to not watch any games, no social media comments about your favorite team before/during/after the games, don’t attend the stadiums, and don’t buy any merchandise which represents the league or your favorite team.” (cbssports) Kaepernick is a hero to many; he stood up for what he believed in knowing it could cost him his dream job. TV host Skip Bayless said African American football players and coaches should all take a stand with Colin Kaepernick and not play until he is signed. This petition has been sent to the owner of the NFL and he has yet to say anything about it. Many fans are furious about the fact that Kaepernick is an amazing athlete but won’t get signed, but people like Mike Vick who has abused animals in dog fights are simply suspended for the season and come back with no hesitation. NFL football players break the law all the time and when they are caught they are just suspended but when a player peacefully protests about something they believe in they lose their job. Kaepernick took a knee during the National Anthem in 2016 to protest racist injustices and police brutality and in return teams won’t sign him.

On the other hand teams don’t want to sign a player that is coming with tons of controversy and hate. These team owners and coaches don’t want to be losing money because people are going to boycott them for signing Kaepernick. In 2016 people were burning Kaepernick’s jersey and were refusing to watch games. In the end the company is going to lose money and fans.
