DACA - Can the Dreamers Still Dream?

DACA, or the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is a program that defends the children who came into the U.S. illegally. However, this program may not protect these illegal immigrants any longer. President Donald Trump has brought this program to a halt so that illegal immigrant children can no longer be sheltered. This program has given nearly 800,000 children protection from deportation and the capability to legally have a job and get paid in the form of  continual permits. What will immigrants do without this safety blanket?

As far as Arizona goes, the superintendents have signed a document to possibly remove the DACA program. This letter is on the Pima County School Superintendent’s Office page and has been up since last week. It already has dozens of school officials that have signed off on it. In this powerful letter, it is said that they believe in “taking a stand on behalf of our students and their families during times of great need. We believe that this is one of those times.”
