On Saturday, September 16, a local man was shot by Dillon Martinez on E. Congress St. near the Rialto Theater. The male victim was driving down the road when he accidentally crashed into Dillon, who then quickly exited his car. They engaged in a verbal fight, which turned physical shortly after. The suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim, who is now in critical condition.

Dillon Martinez was placed in the Pima County Jail on accounts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (class 3 felony), aggravated assault with serious physical injury (class 3 felony), and discharging a firearm in the city limits (class 6 felony). The investigation is still ongoing, but we hope that the victim powers through his injuries with little to no complications.
