Family photo time!

A sport is any activity involving physical exertion in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. According to that definition, is bowling a sport? Well, bowling is both an individual and a team game. Also, it does involve physical activity, although it isn’t much. Some people may say bowling is not a sport, but I would argue to say that it is indeed a sport.

Granny shot?

Just because bowling is not as popular as football or baseball does not mean it doesn’t deserve the title of a sport. Just like any other sport, bowling does involve lots of skill. Like golf, it is a team sport or a sport you can play on your own. There is competition in bowling, same as any other sport, but because of how casual the game is, it is also considered a recreational activity.

So the question is: do you believe bowling is a sport?

Amanda Mourelatos is a sophomore at Sahuaro High School and the Associate Editor in Chief of The Paper Cut. She is a soccer player who has been playing for over 10 years. She also plays vibraphone in the marching band and plays drum set for fun. She loves to nerd out and embrace her love for different television shows, books, and music by quoting them constantly. You will come to find that Amanda is an outgoing, well rounded, and approachable young lady that is just trying to live life to the fullest.

    i know bowling is a sport because i have been bowling since I was 2 and a half and my whole family does it and I love it because it just makes me really happy and I want to try and start one here but I think a lot of kids here are not interested in the sport
