On Friday, December 8, 2017 between 9:05-10am and 10:05-11am – depending on which Winter Assembly you attended – all of Sahuaro came together to appreciate the amazing talents of our fellow Cougar musicians. Orchestra, band, guitar, choir, and jazz band all showcased their talents.

For Josh Bell and Max Breakey the assembly didn’t phase them. Junior, Josh Bell being the top violinist he has been playing in concerts since he was 8 years old. Max Breakey, a senior said that even though he is used to concerts this was a special one because it will be one of his last. “It was stressful but a lot of fun because we all realized it was one of our last concerts so we put in a ton of energy,” said Veronica Martinez- choir singer. When asked what their favorite songs to perform both Bell and Breakey said Waltz of the Flower from the Nutcracker Suite.  They liked that it was easy but sounded well. Martinez really liked to perform Wish You A Merry Christmas and Fruitcake, Veronica liked the energy that was put into Fruitcake but Wish You is one of her personally favorite.

Mr. Marrs, Ms. Barnes, and Ms. Engel would like to thank those people in the audience who were kind and respectful for these students who put so much of their time and effort into this amazing assembly.
