Lawrence G. Nassar, the former doctor for the American gymnastics team, faces up to 175-years in prison for over 150 sexual assault cases. He is accused of molestation of gymnasts as young as six, and was already sentenced to 60 years in prison for possession of child pornography.

In his seven-day trial, the statements given by the women seemed to be “taking their toll” on Nassar; he was seen crying throughout the trials, and once turned to address his victims, saying, “Your words these past several days have had a significant effect on myself and have shaken me to my core. I will carry your words with me for the rest of my days.” Several women rolled their eyes.

“Larry is the most dangerous type of abuser,” said Rachael Denhollander, one of the victims. “One who is capable of manipulating his victims through coldly calculated grooming methodologies, presenting the most wholesome and caring external persona as a deliberate means to ensure a steady stream of young children to assault.”

Upon sentencing Nassar, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina bluntly stated, “I just signed your death warrant.”
