In April 2017, Drake’s former fling, Layla Lace claimed over social media that Drake had raped and impregnated her. She shared a screenshot of what looked like an exchange of texts between the two, but later deleted her entire account and went ghost until she appeared on Sirius XM Radio’s Shade 45 channel in the U.S. She stood by her claim and said she was 100% sure it was Drake’s baby. She failed to mention anything about the sexual assault she claimed to have suffered over social media.

On September 18, Drake filed a lawsuit against Lace, accusing her of emotional distress, civil extortion, fraud, defamation, and abuse of process. He claims that the two had “consensual, protected sex” after they met in Manchester, England while he was on tour last year. He said, “There is no credible evidence of pregnancy, nor any baby, which if were real, would have been born last fall.”

Layla Lace is a former stripper who has allegedly been planning the malicious attack on Drake for over a year. Insiders say that Lace and her attorneys were expecting the hush money and were surprised when Drake went public with it before she got the chance to. There is no word on whether or not she has responded to the lawsuit yet.
