On December 3rd, 2018 Sony will be finally releasing a retro version of their first playstation console that was released 24 years ago. Sony announced the cost of the new console for only $99.99, which is just a fraction of the cost of the original retail price of $299. This console will be close to half the size (45%) of the first Playstation. Sony saw  other companies, like Nintendo, releasing their original consoles into smaller and more updated versions of their old consoles. It’s obvious that Sony wanted to follow these companies and wanted their own retro throwback to sell.

Like Nintendo, Sony  is releasing the retro Playstation with 20 already installed games so you get to have an all-in-one mini system. A list of “Fan Favorite” games included so far are: Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3, Wild Arms, Ridge Racer Type 4, and Jumping Flash. With an updated graphic card, and the easy connection of a HDMI cable; the retro Playstation will be a hit.

This is a great console to save up for and will even be a better Christmas gift. The appeal isn’t only for teenagers today, even adults that played the original 24 years ago when they were kids will want to relive those precious memories. You can preorder this console at sony website.
