Why Blakes Lotaburger Is A Burger Place You Should Visit

Blake’s Lotaburger is a restaurant that is relatively new in Tucson. This burger joint originated in New Mexico with lots of locations spread throughout it. If you haven’t guessed already, this restaurant is most known for its burgers (mostly their green chile cheeseburgers).

They have 2 different burger sizes. They have the Lota Burger, which is the big one, and the Itsa burger, which is the smaller one. They also have some really good fries and onion rings. You also have the option to choose between seasoned or regular fries.

It was founded in 1952 by World War 2 Navy Veteran, Blake Chanslor. That means that the first restaurant was opened around 66 years ago! Every time I would go to New Mexico, we always had to go to Blake’s because the food there was just so delicious, but now Tucson has it’s own Blake’s Lotaburger.

The first one was opened here on April 1, 2016. Now in 2018, they have 3 locations here in Tucson. The closest one is located at 2810 E Speedway Blvd in the Sam Hughes neighborhood.  Their food is amazing, its way different than any other burger place that’s in Tucson at the moment. If you are in the mood for a burger, I recommend going to Blake’s, their food is amazing!
