Avengers: Endgame Time Travel Theory

The Avengers: Endgame trailer came out this Friday and there is a really interesting theory going around based on the end of the trailer. After the title reveal sequence, there was a scene with Paul Rudd, who plays Ant-Man, appearing on the security footage. Captain America asks if it is live footage, and to that Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow, replies it’s the front door. But if you look at the stamp in the screen on it, it looks like it could possibly say, “1983 Archive,” which is most likely why Captain America thinks it is old footage.

The last time that we saw Ant Man he was lost in the quantum realm at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp, but now somehow he’s come back and he could possibly be in the modern-day post Thanos era, but I firmly believe that some how some way, he got out of the quantum realm and showed up at the avengers HQ, when it used to be an old Stark facility back in the 80’s and they are just seeing it in the future.

This seems unlikely as he would have had to travel from wherever he was when he got spit out of the quantum realm and traveled all the way there without noticing that it was 1983, but I think there may be a way to explain it. This may explain how the Avengers will realize that time travel is the way to undo the snap, and do it by using the quantum realm. Scott Lang is also seen on this mystery security footage with his van that holds the way to get to there.

This time travel theory is also backed up but the leaked set photos of Tony Stark wearing the shirt from the first Avengers movie during the big battle at the end.

So, the speculation is that the Avengers are going back in time based on the last part of the trailer and I think it is really plausible and if this turns out to be true I’ll be very pleased.
