It’s extremely heartbreaking to his fans that Glenn Frey’s life ended on January 18th this year. Frey had been hospitalized in NYC since November, as he slipped in and out of a coma while battling rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia.

He always wore CU (Colorado University) T-shirts. It played a big part in the Eagles history.

Glen was left-handed, but played his guitar right-handed.

Glenn’s favorite Eagles songs are One of These Nights, I Can’t Tell You Why, Take It Easy, Tequila Sunrise, Desperado, Best Of My Love, Take It To The Limit, Hotel California, New Kid In Town, Life In The Fast Lane, and Wasted Time.

According to Cameron Crowe, the character Russell Hammond of Almost Famous is based largely on Glenn.

His net-worth is 90 Million.

His greatest song of all time was supposed to have a “follow up” song and the band spent $800,000 trying to make it happen. It was called “The Long Run” and took it took 3 years to produce, but was never released.

Everyone calls the band “The Eagles”, but Glenn Frey insisted they were called just “Eagles”.

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (Any time of year)
You can find it here
Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes Benz
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget...

But, never will the world forget the person behind the lyrics of one of the most iconic songs, Glenn Frey.

Glen – we hope that you are enjoying “mirrors on the ceiling and pink champagne on ice” wherever you are…
