10 Fun Veterans Day Weekend Activities

With the closeout of the Tucsonan summer season, and Veterans Day soon approaching, here are 10 fun activities to do over Veterans day weekend.

  • Tucson Everyone Runs/TMC Fleet Feet
    • We see hundreds of runners taking the dive into a half marathon or 5K this weekend for the TMC Fleet Feet for Veterans day.  Starting at 7:15 a.m. at Old Tucson you will get to run through a handsome track in the western part of town eventually ending back at Old Tucson.  At the end of the race there will be an award ceremony for all each of the age groups. There will be free breakfast and Robeks smoothies, free entertainment and children activities. All info for pricing is on the website for the race.
  • Tucson Cinderella at the Veterans Day Parade
    • The girls of the Tucson Cinderella group will ride a parade float in the Veterans day parade.
  • Veterans Day Hike
    • Hike up Tumamoc Hill from 6 to 8 p.m. on November 10th to honor vets. come take on this hike with a group of vets for only ten dollars!
  • Flag Raising and Breakfast
    • Dodge Traditional magnet middle school will host a flag raising and breakfast on November 8th for all the Tucson Vets to enjoy and feel honored.
  • Ride to “A” Mountain
    • Take a ride up to Christina Taylor-Green Memorial park on “A” mountain with the folks form the Christian Cycling group. and some vets to honor them.
  • Veterans Day in Old Tucson 
    •  With a lasting celebration all weekend vets and active military members get free admission  to any event in Old Tucson all weekend plus a honorary military flag raising at the conclusion of the weekend
  • Living History Day
    •  The Presidio Museum is having a living history day on Saturday the 9th to celebrate Veterans day with several reenactments of Arizonans rich history admission for adults in $5 and for children is $1
  • Veterans Day Appreciation
  • Veterans Day Parade
    • Held at 11 a.m. on November 11th in downtown Tucson celebrating its 100th year of bringing Tucson together to honor Vets. this event is 100% free so go celebrate.
  • Red Cross Blood Drive
