Their drama play board

Sahuaro’s one and only intermediate drama class performed their outstanding play The Fairy Tale Network. Basically, The Fairy Tale Network is a comedy act about three little mice who retell many well-known childhood tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, and Goldilocks. But it had a twist… a crew of Busy Bees would come out with racing props, some even becoming the set pieces themselves. Huh? Throughout the play it was well known that it wasn’t just exciting and enjoyable for the audience, but it was also for the actors!

My personal favorite part of the play was when the Big Bad Wolf started huffing and puffing the three little pigs’ houses down, but ran out of air so he ended up passing out…pretty gracefully. Another cool part was when three actors came out on stage with canvases. They competed in a drawing battle where they had to draw the best cat. At the end, they asked the audience members to clap loudly for the person who they thought won (pretty cool, right?).

Ms. Rossmeissl, the amazing drama teacher who put the whole play together, noted in the flyer that “this intermediate class has grown a lot since their beginning year and are bringing a lot of great character choices to the table.” Sophomore Kera Vega told me a favorite quote in the play was when one of the mice told the audience, “Remember kids: make sure to always party with your grandmother.”
