You already know what time it is. It’s the season of standardized testing.

In the week of April 12-16 of 2021, Sahuaro will be holding a testing week for the ACT and AzMERIT. The ACT and AzM2 assessments are for 10th and 11th-grade students. The testing will take place at 8:00 a.m. but is asked to arrive at school by 7:45 p.m. Any late students will be locked out of testing by 8:05 a.m. From here, Cougars will enter and exit through the Fine Arts gates on the northwest side of the campus. If you’re checking for your testing location, look for the posted rosters on the outside doors of the McConnell Gym.

  • Monday, April 12 AzM2 Reading (Sophomores)
  • Tuesday, April 13 ACT (Juniors) & AzM2 Writing (Sophomores)
  • Thursday, April 15 AzSCI (Juniors) & AzM2 Math (Sophomores)
  • Friday, April 16 Make-Ups

The testing will be in-person but is administered on a school-issued computer. Bring your school-issued computer and charger if you’re currently in possession of one. The school asks for students to bring their own headphones, for they are required. If you don’t have a school laptop (like me) and/or headphones, the school will provide one. Make sure to bring a picture ID and a calculator if you’re taking the ACT. Need to know if your calculator is ACT approved? Click here.

According to Principal Estrella, no cell phones will be permitted and COVID safety protocol will be followed. Students are required to sit quietly in class until all students have finished.

On Tuesday, students will be done around 12:15 p.m while the Thursday exam will be around 10:45 p.m. Students will be excused from being late to their first Zoom class, so no need to speed your way home.

Monday, April 12th, Sahuaro Cougars will follow the normal hybrid schedule.

Tuesday, April 13th, NO in-person students will go to campus. Everyone will meet in Zoom for periods 1-3-5 in the afternoon.

Wednesday, April 14th, normal hybrid schedule.

Thursday, April 15th, NO in-person students will go to campus. Everyone will meet in Zoom for periods 2-4-6 in the afternoon.

Friday, April 16th, normal hybrid schedule.

Students who signed up for the ACT and AzSCI back in late March will be the only students to be allowed on campus.
