Senior Sofie Oswaot is a multi-talented musician.  Sophie plays like the world is at her fingertips. She plays the piano and the guitar, playing the piano since the second grade and is self taught.

“I like to play because I think the piano is very versatile and a good base instrument because all the notes are laid out in front of you.”  She prefers to play classical music on the piano because it tells a story, and Indy rock when she writes her own music.

“My favorite songs to play on the piano are “Victor’s Piano Solo” by Danny Elfman or “Clair de Lune” by Claude Debussy.” One of the reasons Sofie likes to play the piano is because it helps with her emotions and to express how she feels, whether that be when she isn’t feeling the best mentally or when she is happy! She likes to try to write her own music, being lyrical songs and composing.

Sofie is currently trying to start  her very own band. Her inspiration for writing when it comes to this band are Paramore, Deaf Tones, Phoebe Bridgers, and 21 Pilots.

Aside from music, Sofie likes to draw and though she is not college bound, if she were to go, she would want to study in the arts department. Another career path she has thought about was being a tattoo artist. It is a shame this talented artist is saying goodbye to Sahuaro at the end of this school year but this wonderful, talented soul is set to follow and succeed in her dreams!
