One of America’s biggest mysteries has finally been solved…the identity of the Zodiac Killer.

The Zodiac Killer was responsible for at least five murders in Northern California between 1968 and 1969, although claiming to have killed as many as 37 people.  He also wrote some letters in code and included bloody bits of clothing to use as proof of the acts and would tease the police and detectives by sending letters in the mail with riddles and clues to lead to possible identification, but investigators were never able to crack the case until now. The Case Breakers, a team of 40 former law enforcement investigators and detectives, identified the Zodiac Killer as Gary Francis Poste. Poste passed away in 2018, but his name is now a big topic for investigators working his case.

Now that the killer is identified, authorities are working on solving all the clues and getting answers as to why the killer committed numerous murders. Having an identity to trace back to is a major step for those on the case to be able to connect different pieces of evidence and get a final conclusion on the case. Many journalists and news outlets have started covering the story, but there are still more answers to come.
