Roe vs Wade 50th Anniversary

January 22nd marked the 50th anniversary of Roe vs Wade. It was a landmark decision that led to millions of abortions.

Roe vs Wade was overturned by the conservative-majority Supreme Court 7 months ago. Since it was overturned, women’s health has been put at risk. The number of women living in states that forbid abortion is growing, many of them without exception for rape or incest, or where reproductive care providers can be put in jail.

From California to Kansas to Michigan, Americans have demonstrated at the polls since the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe, that they support the fundamental right to choose. All over the country, disturbing accounts of patients being denied lifesaving treatment every day while dangerous legislation is proposed by extremist politicians to outlaw contraception and criminalize its practice by women and medical professionals.

On Friday, one of the marches for life took place, on both sides of the issue. In red states, a dozen Republican-controlled senates are enforcing total abortion bans, and more have restricted access. In blue states, Democrats are taking action to defend and expand access to abortion, passing protections for abortion providers and out of state patients.
