On July 23, 2016 Sahuaro’s librarian, Mrs. Dillon, along with thousands of other bike riders (including Mr. Dillon and Mrs. Bouchard!) participated in the RAGBRAI Ride, where she biked four hundred and thirty-five miles across Iowa. “It was so different than anything I’ve ever experienced before!” exclaimed Mrs. Dillon.

RAGBRAI is an acronym that stands for Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa, which is a non-competitive bike ride that draws bike riders from all areas of the world. At the beginning of the race, it’s tradition to dip the back tire of your bike in the Missouri River, and at the end of the race, dip your front tire in the Mississippi River. While participating in the race, Mrs. Dillon was able to meet new people, and try new foods. After accomplishing this race she felt proud, satisfied, and extremely happy she was able to complete her life time goal. “Don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today!” Mrs. Dillon says with confidence.
