CHINESE SCIENTISTS CLONE MONKEYS. Scientists in China have successfully coned a long-tailed macaques using the same process they used to clone Dolly the sheep more than twenty years ago. The process in which they used is called somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), which involves transferring the nucleus of a cell, which includes its DNA, into an egg which has had its nucleus removed. The two monkeys are now genetically identical and scientists believe they have broken the barrier in human cloning. Zhong Zhong and Hua Hua are the names of these monkeys. Which is which?
