On the evening of August 16th, Sahuaro High School hosted an Open House that welcomed both students and parents. The event was designed to give attendees the chance to meet with teachers and gain insight into the classroom procedures and expectations for the upcoming academic year. The event commenced with an assembly in the auditorium where attendees listened to Principal Estrella’s speech on important school and TUSD policies. This was followed by interactive sessions where parents and students had the opportunity to meet with teachers and ask questions about their respective subjects. The Open House was a successful event that provided valuable information to students and parents, helping to ensure a productive academic year ahead.
The recent changes in the regulations for student behavior at Sahuaro have elicited mixed reactions from the parents, with some expressing approval while others are not entirely convinced. Among those who are supportive of the new policies are Clint and Angela Pittenger, the proud parents of Noah Pittenger, who is a student at the school. They stated that “Student conduct prepares students for outside of school.”
As the start of the school day approached, parents and students entered the buildings and were greeted with a lively scene. Drama students dressed in elaborate costumes, inspired by the latest Barbie movie, were scattered throughout the school. These life-sized Barbie dolls were carefully placed both inside and outside the buildings, each one strategically positioned for maximum visual impact. Some dolls were kept indoors to protect them from the sweltering heat, while others were placed near entrances to welcome visitors and showcase the impressive display. The intricate attention to detail and creative flair of the drama students brought an extra dose of excitement to the school environment.
When it comes to opinions about schools, every parent has a unique perspective. However, there seems to be a consensus among most parents that Sahuaro High School is an exceptional educational institution. Jana Bridgeford, the mother of Siena Wischhusen, shared her thoughts: “The school is open to all activities and lets the students express themselves.”
One of the most important factors that influence a parent’s opinion on the quality of education their child is receiving is the quality of the teachers. Lee Wilson, father of Anela Fisher, also had positive things to say about Sahuaro High School. He believes that the teachers are not only knowledgeable but also approachable, creating a friendly atmosphere in which students can thrive. This is a testament to the school’s commitment to hiring top-notch educators who are passionate about their profession and dedicated to helping students succeed.
