Meatball made from extinct Mammoth made possible here in 2023. The Mammoth has been extinct for over 10,000 years but somehow scientists were able to make a meatball out of them. They did this by using the DNA sequence for mammoth myoglobin. The myoglobin is the part of the protein that holds the genetic data as well as gives the food flavor and color. According to The Smithsonian Magazine this meatball has yet to be eaten." Tim Noakesmith, a co-founder of Vow says," We wanted to get people excited about the future of food being different to potentially what we had before.”
