In the girls’ weight lifting class, everyone is very high spirited and ready to get into great shape. While alternating between upper body and lower body, they are also doing agility exercises, such as practicing jumping techniques to refrain from becoming injured or performing stretches with the training bands around their ankles to create more pressure for a better workout. Haley Criger, junior, has been in Body Conditioning for quite awhile and says she took this class to get stronger. She wants to “break records” in this class has a goal of being in the Air Force Academy, Navy Academy, or Coast Guard Academy in her future. Lilly Encinas, junior, chose this class “To keep up with my body and get in shape.” Also, when asked if she had a preference of co-ed or an all girls class, she said, “Being surrounded by girls is less intimidating.” However, Shay Molina, senior, says, “Co-ed is better because it pushes you more.” All around, these girls are powerful-minded and have their eye on their goal in hopes to achieve it!
