What did you miss from the Emmys?

The Emmys were dominated by many talented women and one powerful man. “Veep,” HBO’s acid political satire about a female politico, was named top comedy for the third year in a row. The star of the show, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, won best female actor for the sixth consecutive year in a row.

President Trump was the butt of many of the jokes that evening, including the opening of the night. A dance number showed a lead dancer that shockingly reminded viewers of our beloved Trump. The host, Steve Colbert, joked, “If he had won an Emmy, I bet he wouldn’t have run for president.”

The other awards went out to…

Donald Glover, for outstanding lead actor in a comedic series, and another for Leading Director for a comedic series.

Alec Baldwin, for outstanding supporting actor.

Nicole Kidman, for outstanding limited series actress in Big Little Lies.

and Riz Ahmed, for outstanding limited series lead actor.

In other words the 69th Emmy’s was pack jam full of awards given out to comedy TV shows and an occasional Trump joke.
