There’s Bribery in Basketball?!

A bribery scandal has occurred in the NCAA and it just so happens that our Arizona assistant, Emanuel Richardson, was caught in the middle of the chaos. Richardson is now “suspended and relieved of all duties” and he has been arrested. He received several charges due to his scheming, including fraud and bribery, but the Wildcats have resumed practicing. Richardson was one of the 10 individuals caught up int he scandal, causing bribery crimes.  He allegedly paid $15,000 to a top recruit for 2018, Jahvon Quinerly. An undercover agent was asked to give the $15,000 to Quinerly to secure his spot on the Wildcats.

“The madness of college basketball went well beyond the big dance in March,” said Joon Kim, acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
