We have two freshman this year who have made it to the Varsity level off the bat. Alyssa Brown and Alyssa (Lucky) Franke are two of Sahuaro’s up and coming stars.

Alyssa Brown, number 44, is a 6′ post player. She is the younger sister of former Sahuaro Girls Basketball record holder Sydney Harden, who graudated in 2016. The number 44 was her sister’s number as well. Lucky, number 10, is a 5’5 point guard. Although they are freshmen, they aren’t new to the program. They’ve been working with head coach Steve Botkin for years. The two Alyssas previously went to Gridley Middle School and from there attended most of the summer camps at Sahuaro. Alyssa Brown, when asked how she felt about being on varsity, said, “It feels really good, I feel good.” When Lucky was asked the same question she said, “I feel great, I’m glad to know my hard work has paid off.”

Keep an eye out for these two because they are already doing big things and once again they’re only freshman.
