February 19th, 2020 was a tragic day, especially for the ones who knew, supported, and looked up to the popular rapper, Bashar “Pop Smoke” Jackson. The Los Angeles Police Department released information to the Radio 1 station that Bashar was shot multiple times in his household.
Rapper Pop Smoke was killed during a home invasion at a Hollywood Hills, California, residence early Wednesday, a police official and federal law enforcement source confirmed to CNN. He was 20 years old and enjoying the success of his sophomore mixtape, which was released last week. Jackson was an American rapper and songwriter who first signed with Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records.

Just hours before he was gunned down, Pop Smoke was in a picture with his friend in the driveway of his home where he was shot. Pop Smoke was immediately taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood where he was pronounced dead. Suspects haven’t been caught and as far as we know they have not been identified. It has not been discovered if Pop Smoke knew the shooters. One man was placed in handcuffs but cops determined he was not involved and was released.
Pop Smoke’s close friend Mike Dee, spoke on his close friend’s loss, “I just lost my … brother, my heart my dawgz. You guys have no type of sense or sympathy! Y’all don’t know whats going on y’all come on here playing investigator and bashing me on the internet, I would never in my life set my brother up,” on an Instagram post, and concluded with a message for Jackson, saying “Just know I got you forever brother the truth will come to light until then sleep in peace.”
