Mia Payette is a junior at Sahuaro High School. She likes to stay busy by being involved with school. Mia plays snare drum in the marching band and has been a percussionist since 5th grade. Band takes up a huge piece of her heart, and she is President of the Band Club. She is also a part of book club and runs social media (@sahuaro_bookworms on IG). This year she is adding The Paper Cut to her list of involvements, but her passion for writing and journalism started in her middle school journalism class. She attended a camp at the UofA this year to reignite her love for writing, and she hopes to attend their School of Journalism after she graduates. Mia has a predilection for all things colorful and you can often find her wearing her favorite color pink. She loves to accessorize and make her own jewelry to reflect her personal style. Mia is a nostalgic person and takes pictures to remember the past and where she was at that exact moment. Her phone has over 6,000 pictures. The sunset, friends, and her dog are her favorite subjects for taking photos. She has an older sister, Tara, who recently graduated, leaving Mia to spend these next two years at Sahuaro on her own!

Marley Gandee is a junior here at Sahuaro High School. This is her third year in the Paper Cut, and she is now the Editor-in-Chief. She loves working on articles, interviewing students and staff, and editing. She also loves her dog, Amilea, and her family's new kitten, Clif. She enjoys listening to many different genres of music; some of her favorite bands/artists include CCR, The Rolling Stone, ABBA, Toby Mac, and Ben Rector. Another pastime of hers is watching T.V., such as Modern Family and Gilmore Girls. During her eighth grade year when she lived in Alaska, she won the middle school science fair, the district science fair, her category in State, and went on to Nationals. However due to COVID, she was unable to actually participate in-person. It was all online. As for the future, Marley isn't one hundred percent on what she wants to do yet. She knows she wants to follow in her grandfather's footsteps and go to Washington State University. Currently, she wants to be a doctor or a reporter for a newspaper on the East Coast. She feels that participating in journalism, especially in the future gives her the opportunity to create change.

Tatum Crawford is a junior at Sahuaro High School. She joined The Paper Cut to grow her social and writing skills. When she graduates, she wants to move to Seattle with her older sister. Her dream college is the University of Washington, and she wants to go into the medical field. She likes to listen to music and read in her free time. She loves playing with her two cats and bonding with them. She enjoys traveling and sightseeing. Her favorite places she's been to are Milan and Florence; she loved the food and the art. She loves art museums, her favorite ones being the Louvre and the Uffizi Gallery.  She loves anything blue, as it's her favorite color. She has multiple pieces of blue jewelry she wears every day. She also likes playing games, her favorites being Animal Crossing and Legend Of Zelda. She loves taking pictures; she has over 30,000 photos on her phone, most of them being travel and cat photos. Her favorite place to visit is Seattle, Washington. There, she loves to visit her sister and go to the local aquarium. She also loves going to Japan Town in Seattle for the food and shopping. She also loves making keychains and phone charms as gifts for her friends and family.

Family is also super important to her. She loves visiting her family in Mississippi, and she enjoys spending time with them. She does many vacations with her mom, and they are super close because it was only the two of them for twelve years; that was the only family that was closest to her. She has family scattered all around the world, including eighteen siblings. She only knows about four of them but would be interested in meeting the rest. Out of all of them, she is the youngest, as all of them are in their late twenties.

Montana Poe is a junior at Sahuaro High School. She aspires to be a journalist in her near future. She is very excited for new fun experiences in her second year in The Paper Cut. In Montana's free time she enjoys practicing and playing volleyball, playing video games, and spending time with her family. She has four brothers who are all older than her but love her very much. She plays club volleyball and volleyball at Sahuaro High School if she could, she would play a lot more sports. Montana has always loved talking and writing about things that are happening in the world around her and in day-to-day life. She wants to travel and see things that maybe some day she can write about. Most of all she want to make her dad who has recently passed away proud because she cares about what he thought and wanted in her future.

Gianna is a strong, well-spoken, independent woman. She is a junior in high school with a 3.4 GPA. She has admirable goals for herself that she wishes to obtain. She is on the Sahuaro varsity volleyball team. She is also in Black Student Union and is the treasurer for the club at Sahuaro High School. She is taking an Honors class and an AP class to better her chances of getting into college. She wants to go to California and play volleyball in college out there. She was born in Tucson, Arizona but all her family lives in New York.
