Quarantine has had everyone picking up a hobby to pass time, but as a gamer, the only thing that changed was the amount of time I’ve put into my games. When you’re bored of the games you’ve been playing all quarantine, you might want to consider some of these hits that released in 202o.

  • Call of Duty games are my go to. Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War came out on the 13th of November. It came with its fair share of bugs and glitches, but it is still very entertaining. Cold War comes with three diifferent game modes: campaign, zombies, and multiplayer, each comes with a different experience for different types of players.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator is a classic game for pc. Microsoft has released the game several times, improving graphics and aircraft selection with each game. The game is rated so highly because you can fly to and from anywhere in the world, in any aircraft. It factors in wind, time of day and realistic controls. I really want to fly some day, but until then,a game this realistic could definitely satisfy.

  • The Last of Us: Part Two is an apocalyptic based survival game. You fight through different types of zombies such as clickers, and bloaters, varying in difficulty. You also defend yourself against humans. The first game was also a huge hit that holds a special place in my heart. The difference is obviously in the visuals, but the story has picked up characters, weapons enemies, and abilities. The Last of Us: Part 2 is emotional, beautiful, and terrifying, which sounds like a great package deal to me.

  • Final Fantasy 7 Remake was a huge success this year. It has over 40 hours of gameplay, stunning graphics, a satisfying story, and plenty of fun side quests. The game is about a mercenary who is trying to save the city with a group of heroes. He’s portrayed, at first, as a cold hearted character who really only wants to get paid, but as the story progresses, the player watches him become more and more kind, more human. A lot of old fans came back to gaming for this one and for good reasons.

  • Tony Hawk: Pro Skater 1 and 2 is a skateboarding game with stunning locations, tricks, and an insane amount of customization. I briefly played this game before the release of Cold War, and it was so much fun. Landing tricks and combining them is super satisfying, and it had me focused for hours. It’s another remaster of two classic skating games designed by the pro skater Tony Hawk, which adds new locations as well as improving graphics of the originals.

  • Doom Eternal is a story game about hell, demons, big guns, and big explosions. You play as the only person on Earth capable of defeating hell’s army. As the story progresses, the player faces more difficult enemies and more challenging scenarios, but you become stronger, more capable of kicking demon butt. The game is compellingly chaotic, with a great story and awesome enemies.
