Former drummer of Slipknot, Joey Jordison, passed away on July 26, 2021 in his home. The cause of death was revealed as natural causes and he peacefully died in his sleep at 46 years old. His family said there was no attempted murder, seizure or anything. He simple passed away peacefully. Slipknot is a late 1990’s and early 2000’s death metal bank that was and still is popular.

Not only did Joey perform for Slipnot, but also played with Korn, Metallica, and Rob Zombie. His love for drumming began when he was gifted his first drum set at 8 years old.  He self-taught himself to play drums, becoming one of the most celebrated drummers in all metal. Fans knew him by his mask, which was white with black paint drippings, and a crown of thorns he would wear while performing at every show. He later dismissed himself in 2013 after he was diagnosed with a neurological condition known as transverse myelitis, which is the inflammation of the spinal cord, that left him unable to perform.  His band went on to win a Grammy and sold a million copies of albums globally.

The Slipknot band came out with a tribute video on instagram  & and said “Joey Jordison’s art, talent , and spirit could not be contained or be held back, Joey’s impact on Slipknot, our lives and on our music that he loved is incalculable, without him there would be no us, we mourn his loss with the entire Slipknot  family, we love you Joey.”

I’m sending prayers for his family, friends and his millions of fans over the world. He is a inspiration for the next future drummers to come and he’s been mine since I was little. You’ll be missed and rest in peace.
