Harry Potter Star, Robbie Coltrane, Dead at 72

On October 14, 2022, the Scottish Actor, Robbie Coltrane, was announced dead to the public by his agent Belinda Wright. This sorrowful news was a heartbreak to his fans and also to those who knew him personally.  The name Robbie Coltrane holds a big meaning in the acting industry, especially when referring to Harry Potter. Many of you will recognize him as our beloved Rubeus Hagrid. He was not only known for playing this breakthrough role, but he could also be recognized in GoldenEye, The World is Not Enough, Mona Lisa, and Cracker. His passing was unexpected and struck the hearts of so many.

After hearing about the late actor’s passing, people from all around were heard paying their respects to Robbie Coltrane. Some of his colleagues also spoke out to the public about his passing. On Instagram, his fellow costar Emma Watson gave her respects to Robbie by saying, “Robbie, if I ever get to be so kind as you were to me on a film set, I promise I’ll do it in your name and memory.” Daniel Radcliffe also paid his dues by stating, “I feel incredibly lucky that I got to meet and work with him and very sad that he’s passed. He was an incredible actor and a lovely man.”

Robbie Coltrane was loved and known by many people from all around the world. He brought a new light the to acting industry for lots of individuals of all ages. To a countless amount of people, Robbie Coltrane is now a household name and it will never fade away. He will be greatly missed, however, his legacy will continue to thrive for a very long time.
