Ice Rink at the TCC!

According to visittucson.org, “With 350+ days of sunshine a year, Tucson is one of the sunniest cities in the United States!”   In other words, it’s not exactly a winter wonderland, but you can always count on the Tucson Convention Center (TCC) to get you in the wintery mood and show you a good time!

I’m sure everyone knows what the TCC is, and you’ve probably heard of different events throughout the year. From hockey games, the recent rodeos, job fairs, and college centers, it could easily be argued that the TCC always has something entertaining to do! And now from  December 1st, 2022 – January 8, 2023 an Ice Skating rink is open!

Tickets can be purchased online for a 90-minute session. The skates begin at a children’s size 8, and go all the way up to a men’s size 15. The skates are included in the ticket, and it is recommended to bring gloves yourself. For adult tickets, it is 20$ per session, and for children under 12 years old, 14$.

This is such an amazing event to go to with your friends and family, and something that will surely bring a smile to everyone’s faces.

On Friday, December 2nd, I actually attended one of the ice-skating sessions, and I could easily say it was worth the price to get in! The rink isn’t all that big, but it is still extremely fun. Crowds of people poured into the session, including young children, all the way up to older adults. Everyone can enjoy this activity.

Christmas music was playing, and although it was rather difficult to skate on the ice at first, the atmosphere really makes you feel as though you’re partaking in a Hallmark movie. Everyone is smiling, some people are singing, children are laughing, and everyone is skating on the ice.

For someone who’s lived in Arizona her whole life, this really is something new and different, and something I don’t regret doing.

However, word of advice, don’t dress in exceedingly warm clothes. It’s cold at first, but the longer you skate you’ll really begin to warm up, as I had to figure out. However, it was an overall 10/10 experience, and I definitely plan on attending a session again.
