On October 24th, 2023, a roar was heard across the desert as the Arizona Diamondbacks won the National League pennant in a thrilling game seven against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Arizona’s beloved Diamondbacks, in their 26th season, are going to play in the World Series after over 20 years, the last time being in 2001 when they won against the New York Yankees during their 4th season as an MLB franchise.

The game was a 4-2 win played at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies’ stadium. Things were not looking good for the D-backs when they were 0-2, but they made a comeback winning the next two games, leaving the teams tied. When they were down 2-3 during game 5, they were able to miraculously secure that win and the next to come out as the NL Championship champions. The team celebrated afterward with champagne showers.

The Diamondbacks barely squeezed into the postseason as the 6th seed in the National League. They beat the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Game, the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series, and now the Philidelphia Phillies in the National League Championship Series.

Corbin Carroll, the MLB’s Rookie of the Year, has become a big player for the Diamondbacks and led them in their win. “We have so many good players, but he’s a superstar,” said D-backs general manager Mike Hazen. “And you can’t win without superstars. We wouldn’t be where we’re at without him.”

They are set to play the Rangers, and the first game is on Friday, October 27, 2023, with games on the following Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday if needed.

The Rangers are the favored team for this World Series, but don’t underestimate the Snakes! Good Luck Diamondbacks, you’ve made Arizona proud.
