The Tragedy of Wendy Williams

The+Tragedy+of+Wendy+Williams

Wendy Williams is most well known for her bluntness on her talk show, The Wendy Williams Show. She had different sections every day on her show, including Hot Topics. She would explain the news that was happening through celebrities and be very upfront about how she felt about them. People either loved her or hated her – no in between. Wendy has recently been diagnosed with dementia, as well as aphasia; many people say that she deserves it.

Wendy’s talk show first aired on July 14th, 2008. It became very popular due to how opinionated and blunt she was towards people she would talk about. For example, there was an incident with Britney Spears where Wendy said, “Shame on you Ms. Spears, and shame on you as well Mr. Spears, death to all of them!” in regards to how Britney was held captive by her team, and her parents didn’t do anything about it. This caused a lot of controversy in the audience, where even Wendy herself looked shocked by her statement.

People knew Wendy for saying crazy statements like the one above. But something people didn’t know until she had a documentary made about her, was that she was heavily addicted to alcohol and cocaine. She also had thyroid issues, which caused her eyes to pop out, but she was able to keep it refrained while filming her show. Now since she has dementia, she has let herself go mentally and physically.

People say the diseases she got were karma for everything bad she has said to people. I think it’s just a form of consequence for her actions, such as alcohol and drug abuse. It is very sad seeing someone that a lot of people used to watch every day slowly lose her ability to do things normally.
