My Chemical Romance is an American rock band from New Jersey. The band consists of lead vocals, played by Gerard Way, guitar, played by Ray Toro and Frank Iero, and bass, played by Mikey Way, Gerard Way’s brother.

The band released their debut album in 2002, which was titled “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love”. They signed with a new record label the next year, and in 2004, they released the album “Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge”. The band’s success outdid itself with their 2006 album, “The Black Parade”. It was received with generally good reviews from music critics and earned a double platinum in the USA and the UK. After Bob Briar left, they released “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys”, which also received positive reviews.

My Chemical Romance released Bryar on tour with Michael Pedicone and Jarrod Alexander. They added a touring keyboardist named James Dewees in 2012, and released “Conventional Weapons,” a series of singles recorded in 2009, over a five-month period. My Chemical Romance announced a breakup on March 22, 2013. The next year, after they split, they released a final song, titled “May Death Never Stop You”.

The band reunited in secret in 2017, and announced a reunion on Halloween in 2019, which took place in L.A. on December 20. This extended to a small tour the next week, going to Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. This was followed by an announcement in Europe, January 2020, but the shows were unfortunately postponed because of COVID-19.

MCR has brought me some of my happiest memories. I’ve listened to them a lot since January of 2019, when I first truly discovered them. I’d heard excerpts from their songs before, but I’d never payed much attention. In January of 2019, though, I started hearing “Welcome to the Black Parade” more often. That song resonated with me on a personal level, and I started poking around, looking for more My Chemical Romance. In my searches, I found some amazing songs, like “Helena” and “Look Alive, Sunshine”. So, as a huge fan, I’m very excited about this reunion.
