JoJo Siwa Changes the World for the LBGTQ+ Community

If you don’t know who JoJo Siwa is, have you been living under a rock this whole time? 17-year-old JoJo Siwa is America’s most famous child entertainer today. Siwa is commonly known for her passion for bows, her music, her appearance on “Dance Moms” and “The Masked Singer”, and her partnership with Nickelodeon. Just watching one clip of JoJo Siwa, one can tell JoJo has high energy and a genuine heart.

Siwa posted a TikTok of herself lip-syncing to Lady Gaga’s iconic song “Born This Way.” With rainbow lights flashing in the background, she sings, “No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian transgender life, I’m on the right track baby, I was born to survive.”

Since coming out, JoJo Siwa has received major support from fans and peers such as Paris Hilton and even Snooki from “Jersey Shore.” At first, some viewers were confused about the video, but Siwa soon confirms she was coming out on her Instagram livestream. JoJo Siwa explains that though she prefers to not yet select a specific label of her sexual orientation, she says, “I always believed that my person was just going to be my person. And if that person happened to be a boy, great, and if that person happened to be a girl, great!”

On Twitter, JoJo displays their new shirt given from their cousin that says “BEST. GAY. COUSIN. EVER.”

Truly a power movement.

The type of impact JoJo Siwa has a child entertainer on not only the younger generation, but parents as well, will hopefully help bring the discussion on the LGBTQ+ community in a positive light. To be able to look up to someone that is proud of who they are will bring comfort to those who are discovering themselves. JoJo expressing her true colors will hopefully have her audience feel the same, be who they want to be. “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been now, and that’s what matters.” Give me a sec, I’m going to go cry in the corner.

Hours after JoJo Siwa’s big announcement, her home was swatted. On her photographer’s Instagram Live, she explains how the police said someone made a claim and believes it may correlate with her announcement. Not only did Siwa have to deal with matters with the police, but also have no clue what was happening, all because of paparazzi wanting a news story. Imagine trying to take THE JoJo Siwa down.

What you can take from reading this is that be who you want to be, and love you whomever you choose. Congratulations JoJo!
