Who is Madame Kelly?

Who+is+Madame+Kelly%3F

Madame Kelly is an amazing teacher here at Sahuaro, but most students seem to not know who she is and what she stands for. Madame Kelly is our only French teacher and her classroom is filled with happy spirits and calm energy. Every morning she does something for the mental health of her students.  On Mondays, she shows her students an inspirational video that she likes to call a Power Monday Video. On Tuesdays she has meditation in the morning for the students, on Wednesdays, she does reflection pieces for her students, and on Thursdays, she does five-minute health where she will show a video or teach a healthy recipe to her students. Fridays she likes to share parts of where she came from by showing her students a French music video so her students can see and learn new things about France and the people there.

“It was hard leaving everybody behind as I was very close to my family and friends. However, it was one of the best decisions of my life because I am extremely happy with my husband whom I met when I first came to visit the United States. If I had to do it all over again I would.” Madame Kelly is very passionate about all of these people and starts to look sad thinking about her friends and family and how they aren’t here with her, but then a huge smile reaches her face when she speaks about her husband, son, and the new friends she has made.

Everyone wonders why teachers choose to be teachers.  Madame Kelly shared that she decided to get into education after working as a tutor helping student-athletes at the University of Arizona. When she lived in Paris before moving to the USA, she thought she was going to pursue a career in the travel and tourism industry because she loves traveling so much.   She is very happy however with her career choice because she feels like she can uplift, guide, and motivate her students to live their best life.  One thing she taught me and I will always remember is that I am the CEO of my life and that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to because I am in charge, and making good choices pays off 🙂
