Tucson Marijuana Laced with Fentanyl

Sally Duncan, Sahuaro nurse, is alerting faculty, families, and students that Tucson marijuana maybe laced with Fentanyl, a powerful opioid that can easily lead to an overdose. The signs of an opioid overdose are listed below. Do no hesitate to call if you suspect an overdose.
Signs of an Opioid Overdose
- Blue lips or nails
- Dizziness and confusion
- Can’t be woken up
- Choking, gurgling or snoring sounds
- Slow, weak or no breathing
- Drowsiness or difficulty staying awake
- Small or Pinpoint pupils
Suspect an Overdose?
- Call Health Office or 911
- Naloxone (Narcan) is carried by Nurse, SRO and School Safety
- Stay with the person until help arrives
