The 66th annual Band Day featured 40 bands from all over the southwest, including the Pride of Arizona. Sahuaro competed in the 1A division and placed 9th out of twelve bands. Sahuaro also got third in percussion out of everyone in our division. After watching the rest of 1A and 2A bands, the Pride of Arizona performed their show which included songs written by No Doubt, with featured soloists for each song.

This weekend was long for marching band. The band had a hall march, pep assembly, and a football game the day before. Not just any game, it was also Homecoming. After leaving the game at ten and the dance at eleven, we had an early call time of six in the morning before our performance. The band arrived and played their show at 8:30 am.

The Prides show included songs by No Doubt including Tragic Kingdom, Don’t Speak, Just A Girl and Hella Good. They made plenty of formations, including a heart that breaks, the words ‘No Doubt’ and ‘Keep Dancin’. They featured Captain Marvels logo during Just A Girl due to the song being featured in the movie.
