Brendon Davis, Beat Investigator

On November 20th, Sahuaro’s orchestra held a concert and fundraiser called Orch-feast-ra! During this, chamber groups played individually before playing as a full group. They were followed by the other two classes playing as full orchestras, and you got to eat while watching. This concert was filled with tons of beautiful music and talent.

Table of food

There was a total of 7 chamber group performances, all of which were amazing. The songs that were played were: Allegro Deciso, Duett Mit Zwei Obligaten Augengläsern, Dolce (Andante), Stairway to Heaven, Canon in D, Fascination, Waltz from the Nutcracker Suite and El Choclo. Followed by the advanced orchestra preforming Spring from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

The beginning orchestra played Carillon and sounded amazing. Finally, the intermediate orchestra played last. We played The Dance of Iscariot, and it sounded even better than it did during rehearsal.

Overall, combined with the food and music, I think it was an amazing concert and it was quite fun. Everyone was able to enjoy themselves here and I can’t wait wait to do it again next year.
