Homecoming, pep rallies, and winter formal have been a blast this year, but prom is an event that’s very important to most seniors. It’s a stunning exhibition of opulence and fancy attire. But, what makes prom so special? Prom, along with graduation, signifies for students the end of high school and the start of adulthood.

Seniors are thrilled about this year’s prom and everyone is talking about it! This year, prom is happening on Friday, April 14th at the  Westward Look Resort from 7-11 pm. The venue is absolutely beautiful! When seniors buy a ticket, they will have an opportunity to vote for prom king and queen, there is a table in the cafeteria for students to make their vote. Tickets are on sale from March 13th to April 13th and they sell out fast, so get yours quickly. This year, the prom theme is quite interesting. The theme is called “A Night at Gatsby”. Of course, you don’t have to follow the theme, but if you wanted to, here is a picture of the attire that was worn in 1920, the Gatsby era. “Prom ticket purchase is open to seniors only, however they can bring any grade student as a date,” says Ms. Trujillo, StuCo advisor. How does Student Council come up with the theme? “The way we come up with all assembly and dance themes is by voting. For prom, our senior class president and vice president come up with multiple ideas for them, and then the senior class student council members vote on their favorite.” If you are planning to buy a ticket, here is what you’ll need to know:
