The Sahuaro sports season has started and it’s not just football, the Sahuaro Swim Team has started their season as well, with their first meet on Thursday, September 5th. Our school swim team is pretty awesome, we have 73 swimmers and there are no try outs or cuts. It’s a great environment, everyone is supportive of one another including the wonderful swim team coaches. Coach Jenny and Coach Kruszewski are really encouraging but push the swimmers to be the best they can and reach their full potential.

The meet was at our home pool: Udall. We competed against Sabino and Tanque Verde, some of our biggest competitors. The girls scored 79 points leaving us in 3rd place, and the boys scored 121 points putting them in 1st. For many swimmers this is a new experience, and for others it is familiar, but overall, we scored well for the first meet. Coach Kruszewski said, “This season has been crazy, it’s a good crazy but it is crazy because we have so many swimmers…but the swim meet was awesome.”

The next meet is an away meet at Catalina High School on Thursday September 12th. Go and support the swim team!
