St. Olaf Receives a Gem

To keep a positive mindset and good mental health, Quinn Riley, senior, has been enjoying the company of her dogs. She’s a fantastic soccer player at Sahuaro, and she has chosen to attend St. Olaf in Minnesota, where she will continue to play. She’s been quarantined like the rest of us, but she’s been focused on her next years of education.

Quinn has already been admitted to Northern Arizona University, but she’s also been offered to play at three different schools. In the end, she committed with St. Olaf to play soccer. She expressed to me her interest in several schools before making her big decision. With patience and time, I’m sure she made the decision that best suits her. I’d enjoy the change of scenery and weather. When I asked her about her interest in classes, Quinn seemed unsure besides her admiration for movies. Her love in movies has given her inspiration to focus on studying film. St. Olaf seems well-known because of its decorated music department. The school was founded in 1874 as a private Evangelical Lutheran college, and it encourages students to live a lifestyle based around faith. It’s a liberal arts school, with popular majors such as biology, economics, psychology, and chemistry. The school is prestigious because of it’s 3.67 gpa requirement, which means Quinn worked very hard to achieve such a great opportunity. I’m excited for her, and we at Sahuaro wish her the best of luck in the future.
