Here in Tucson we have a handful of volunteer opportunities.  Not only is volunteering something enjoyable to do, but it has tons of benefits such as boosting your resume, gaining experience, and feeling good about doing good. Here are some places to volunteer at:

Starting with The Community Food Bank Of Southern Arizona.

Location The warehouse and garden are at 3003 S. Country Club Rd (Country Club and 36th Street). Las Milpitas de Cottonwood Farm is at 2405 S. Cottonwood Lane

This place is great, and volunteers get to do all sorts of things such as packing and sorting food, distributing food, working in the community gardens, serving meals at their community kitchen, and helping out in our administrative offices. They do have an age restriction; you need to be 16 years of age or older.

GAP Ministries

They’re located at 2025 W Hwy Dr, Tucson, AZ 85705

Gap Ministries is a non-profit organization that helps children and healing families. GAP cares for over 250 foster children annually and works toward the healthy restoration of families.

Volunteering for GAP helps you strive to provide the necessary equipment, supplies, workspace, and helpful supervision.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization, they work to empower people in the world’s poorest communities. They believe in a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Make way for books 

Location 700 N. Stone Avenue, Tucson AZ 85705

The mission of Make Way for Books is to give all children the chance to read and succeed. You don’t need much to help out; teens are invited to do book drives for Make Way For Books at their schools, clubs, sporting teams, etc.
