Ms. Bradley: Get to Know Her

Ms.+Bradley%3A+Get+to+Know+Her

Ms. Bradley, a dedicated STEM teacher at Sahuaro High School, brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role in inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. Her journey to this position has been shaped by a diverse educational and professional background.

“Graduating from Rock Island Senior High School was just the beginning of my educational path,” Ms. Bradley shared. She continued her studies with an associate degree from Blackhawk College, followed by a Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) and a Master’s in Nursing (MN) from the University of Phoenix. Before transitioning to teaching, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner, a role that allowed her to combine her love for science with a want to help others. She mainly worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner to earn money and have a more regular schedule, “I loved it, but got tired and wanted to try something different.” When reflecting on her journey, each step of the way has led her to where she is today.

After her career in nursing, she was inspired to pursue a career in education because “Teaching runs in my blood,” she remarked. Now, her passion continues with encouragement from seeing the benefits students gather from her teaching. “When I see that light bulb go on and a student says, ‘I GET IT!’ – that’s the moment I live for,” she described.

In addition to her academic and professional achievements, Ms. Bradley enjoys a variety of hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, and reading. These activities bring balance to her life and keep her grounded.

Bradley also trap shot for a hobby when she was younger. “From second grade on, I shot a rifle – my father taught me. I then took up a shotgun (12 gauge) at the age of 12 and became a lady trapshooter in the U.S. in 1982.” That meant she was the best female trapshooter in the U.S. that year. Bradley loved trapshooting, and it was a fun thing she got to do with her dad.

Ms. Bradley is not now married, but at one point she was. She has one daughter, who is 35 years old, and she has three grandchildren (ages 6 years, 3 years, and 10 months).

Ms. Bradley’s dedication to creating an engaging learning environment ensures that students at Sahuaro High School are inspired and supported in their STEM education journey. Her passion for her subject matter and genuine care for her students make her an invaluable asset to the school community.

Wynter Nye, Reporter

Wynter Nye is a freshman here at Sahuaro High School. She is the oldest of 3 kids; she has two younger brothers ages 9 years and 10 months. She loves to hang out with her friends and write stories and is currently working on publishing one of her older books from 2020 with help from her grandmother. When she's not doing either of those things, she is sleeping or watching TV; her favorite show is The Summer I Turned Pretty or American Housewife. When Wynter is older, she wants to be a pediatric nurse because she has always loved helping little kids in need due to family experiences.  She has been earning money from TikTok since July 2022, and she loves to shop online with the money she earns.  You will ALWAYS catch her buying things off either Amazon or Shein, her two favorite online stores. She is very kind and shy, but she doesn't play around when it comes to people being disrespectful to her friends, family, or herself.
